A Day Out at Margate

It was half term last week and we took the opportunity to spend a few days with my brother-in-law and his family in London. On one of the days we drove across to Margate. We went to the Turner Contemporary Gallery, had great fish and chips (on National fish and chips day!) and spent some time on the beach.

Before we got to the sand though, we had to buy some spades and a bucket. Of course, you can always find a shop selling brightly coloured beach accessories along any English seafront. I liked the fact that this one had a Margate tea towel stuck to a street sign as well. It gives the image a sense of place when there is nothing to distinguish which town it is.
