Holy Jesus Hospital in Newcastle

While we were making our way to the Castle Gate Centre in Newcastle to see our son collect his Chief Scout Silver Award certificate, we walked past the Holy Jesus hospital. This is an area of Newcastle which I very rarely walk around and I loved the repeating arches along the front of the building. On the way back, I took this shot and I've had a play around with some effects.

I knew that I wanted the finished image to be black and white. I've enhanced the details and while I was adjusting the exposure and contrast, I came across an off set slider. This gave the photo a faded effect which I thought went well with the oldness of the bricks. It gives it an old world look and it looks like it could've been taken in the early 1900s.

I rather like it. I'd love to know what you think about it!
