The Second Portrait Award

After winning my first regional portrait award with the Master Photographer's Association, I came back the neat year, in 2002 and won again! Especially thrilling as my name was engraved on the trophy twice in a row - albeit in my maiden name.

This was just a straight forward photograph of a dad and his daughter. It was mounted and the photo was off-set in the mount. The photo also had a greyed out border around the edge to emphasise the close bond between the dad and his daughter.

The MPA managed to get the winners photographs displayed in a public exhibition at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle and we had an opening evening when this photo of me and my winning entry was taken. I think this may have been the only time that the winners have been displayed publicly.
