Worried About Having Your Wedding Photos Taken?

When you book your wedding photography with me I always offer a complimentary engagement photo session. This is a really good idea especially if you don't like having your photo taken.

I did a session last year with the most nervous person that I've ever photographed. She avoids the camera at all cost and admitted to almost having a phobia about it. I could tell in the first shots of her on her own that she wasn't comfortable. It didn't help that we were on location and a couple came into the space where we were working and put her off.

Now you may think that this sounds very cruel, to put someone through an experience that they don't like when they don't have to. But it was better for her to be feeling like this on a normal Saturday morning than worrying about it on the morning of her wedding.

We discussed the fact that on the day I would have my longer lens and would be able to get shots when I was standing further away - kind of stealth photography! She agreed that she was more relaxed when I'd been further away. She also admitted that she had relaxed as the session went on - yippee :-) That's one hurdle overcome.

She loved the engagement photos so much that they ordered an album! She was also more relaxed on the wedding day and was thrilled with her photographs.

The couple are very private and didn't want their images to be shared, so here are some examples of past engagement photo sessions for you to see.
